Dedicated to Keeping New Zealand Cleaner and Greener!
I think I've finished my QB79!
What do you think?
Just finished painting the silencer, and decided to also take the stickers off the CO2 tank and paint it in matt black as well.
QB79 CO2 single shot bolt action .177 @ 650fps. Bipods. Sharp Hunter 2-7x32. Laser. Silencer. Bulk Tank.
Fires 7.71 grain pellets at 650fps - equating to 7 foot pounds of energy. More than enough to dispatch pest birds
Reassembled it, only to discover the main O ring seal had blown! So after a quick replacement - reassemble and test shoot - I thought it was time to check my shooting skills. After all, it's been at least 24 hours since the last 'backyard bird bash'.

Placing some bread in the carpark - I positioned the backyard gate with a stick and lay down to wait.
I'm calling these photos - The Photos of the Year! Even though it's only January 3rd!
This beast is so quiet now, that the thud of pellet impacting bird is louder than when it leaves the muzzle.
The sparrow in the right is exactly as it fell - at around 25 meters. I didn't position it for the photo at all.

8 Sparrows hit the dust at 23 meters! Make that 13!!!
22!!! 27!!!
Just a word of advice with adding larger CO2 tanks to QB79's - make sure the tank does not touch the barrel, otherwise it will affect accuracy.
I have to turn my tank slightly to line it up, still insuring it is sealed into the receiving port.

Still not sure at velocity and if it has been affected in any way by adding the silencer, I placed a coke can at the distance I was shooting the sparrows - 25 meters.
Straight through and through the can - no problem!
