Battery Starter Pack

August 2008

I bought one of these Battery Starters - with inbuilt air compressor and torch.

Thing is, that my daughter's car wouldn't start a few mornings ago, so - all excited - I jumped up out of bed to try out my new toy!

It was useless!!! I ended up using the van battery with jumper leads to start her car!

So, a few days later when I tried to use my bike for the first time in a month, its battery was dead too.

Decided to give my Battery Starter another go - same thing, utterly useless!

Then I found the on button :-)

Sometimes my lovely wife says' 'For a brilliant man, sometimes you can be really stupid!'

Suzuki Intruder 250

Feb 2008

My daughter in law Melz just got her bike license, and bought a Suzuki Intruder 250 twin low-rider.

Awesome! One sexy bike.

Motorbikes in India / Thailand

Jan Feb 2008

Thought you might like these photos of bikes in India and Thailand - during my recent trip to those countries.

In both countries - bikes are far more popular than cars. In Thailand they love to mod their bikes!

Calcutta - on a Royal Enfield 350cc single, with Elizabeth on the back.

Last ride for 2007!

Just the one photo. After church today, Chum organized a bit of a ride for the boys.

Hit the road at 2pm for a 3 hour ride up the coast to Wellsford. Great ride through the country with good mates.

The best thing about it, is that two of my mates are also two of my sons.

Photo is from after we stopped at a pub for refreshments. Sitting in the leather couches, we all started to drift off to sleep! (At least us three oldies did!)

Bikes: Garth's Harley, my Djebel, Chum's Hyosung 250, Josiah's 225 Yamaha, Andrew's brand new 1800 Hog!

Best memory of the day: Andrew with his bike in cruise control - riding up a hill with no hands, while waving them gracefully like a flying dove :-)

Suzuki Djebel 250

One of my 'toys'!  I'd love you to join me on some trail rides. If you own a road registered trail bike, contact me through the site map.

I've owned several bikes over the years, but this Suzuki Djebel (De-Jebel) 250dr has got to the most fun! It is so well balanced, and has heaps of power for anything I ask it to do. And it's not too heavy when I fall off after a scramble.

What I like about this bike, apart from the balance and power, is the electric start, digital Speedo and stainless exhaust. I keep my dirt tyres on it all year, even in the winter. While not as safe as road tyres, I am very careful on the roads.

Now that summer is on the way, I intend going on heaps more biking and shooting adventures.

In this photo, I'm heading into the bush for a bit of a shoot and ride. My rifle is 'taken down' and stored in my back pack.

My two oldest sons have now bought motorbikes. Josiah a brand new Yamaha 225 road machine, and Chum an unusual Japanese road/racing 250 twin.

My friend Garth has just imported a brand new 250 road registered trail bike as well.

So - watch this space!!!

Below - Me, Josiah and Chum on our Bikes, out for a ride.

Chum learning which way is the front             .

Yep, that's an orange beamer in my garage. Belongs to my daughter in law!
